 Project MEET

What Is Project MEET?

Project MEET (Massachusetts Empowering Educators with Technology) is a Massachusetts Department of Education technology initiative. This program seeks to develop and support the technology integration efforts of a school-based teacher team, a support person or Technology Professional Development Specialist (TPD), and the planning efforts of a school technology policy team.

History of Project MEET at NBHS

New Bedford Public Schools received a Model Technology Integration Grant to further the initiatives of Project MEET.

Project MEET welcomes the addition of the New Bedford Public Schools' Technology Integration Mentor program. A portion of the TIMs program is modeled after Project MEET and we are pleased to have had an influence on its creation. Project MEET members involved in the TIMs program include Larry Edmundson, Deborah Borden, and Cindi Tougas.

On November 13, 2002, some of the original team members presented at  MassCUE's  2002 Annual Technology Conference in Sturbridge. New Bedford team members presented twice on Wednesday with the first presentation topic dealing with online lesson formats and the second as a joint presentation with presenters from Pittsfield regarding WebQuests in the classroom.

On November 16 and 17, 2004, Mr. Joseph Oliver and Mrs. Cindi Tougas will be joining MassNetworks for a presentation at  MassCUE's  2004 Annual Technology Conference in Sturbridge.
