A WebQuest for Miss Chretien’s Life Science Class

Introduction
You are being hired
as a specialist to teach a section of the unit that is entitled Control and
Regulation. As that specialist, you will be responsible to present information
to the class. You must know your material and you will be responsible for
making certain that the class understands the material.
Task
Your job is to
thoroughly research your chosen subject area. You need to take that research
and create a presentation for the class. The style of presentation is up to
you. Also, you must create a worksheet, quiz or some type of activity to make
certain that the class understands the lesson. Visuals are to be included with
your presentation.
Process
1. You may work alone or with a
partner if the class group is large enough to support teamwork.
2. As an individual or team you
will pick a role to play.
3. Obtain a folder from your
teacher, in which, you will keep all of your printed material. You/your team
will access the online resources that have been provided on this page.

will also find a list of books that are available to you.

organize your information for presentation. Powerpoint software can also
be used to present your lesson if that is what you choose to use. The style of
presentation is completely up to you.

for the chosen area of study.

Neurologist – you specialize in the study of the brain, nervous
system and reflexes.
Endocrinologist – you specialize in the study of the endocrine system
and the production and role of hormones.
Ophthalmologist – you specialize in the study of the anatomy and
function of the eye.
Audiologist – you specialize in the study of the anatomy and
function of the ear.
Conclusion
At the end of this
research unit, each group should have become well informed about its topic.
After all of the presentations have been made, the class should be well
prepared to take and pass the unit test on Control and Regulation.
